Students explored identity, community, and citizenship in this project. They analyzed photographs and images after we took a field trip to see La Raza exhibit at The Autry Museum, and were introduced to different types of art mediums that would augment their sequence of art projects that connect to LA, identity, community, and citizenship.
Using visual analysis and exploring cultural identity was used for the interdisciplinary Professional Development. Using images and essential questions to tap into student engagement and personal experience that connects to personal and community history; and their identity to a community. The professional development was given to English and History teachers.
