Students in my Dark Room Photography class continued last year's exploration of PST: LA/LA's themes from behind the camera lens. They took portraits of their peers, and the school community in general. For each project, students processed their own film and developed prints in the dark room.
This year, I invited my colleagues to join me in a conversation about Arts Integration. We shared our best practices and were inspired by each others' innovative methods. We also discussed ways for us to collaborate cross-curricularly.
I am grateful for the additional funding that PST: LA/LA provided, which supported the resources I required for my Photography class. Also, I enjoyed the challenge of gathering my colleagues to discuss Arts Integration. All of my colleagues expressed a desire to continue that conversation. We were dismayed to realize that throughout the years at our school site, we had never had a PD that focused solely on the Arts.
