Media ArtsMatter is a yearlong program that integrates media arts into academic content through four dynamic units: Introduction to Media Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, and Photography. Each classroom teacher is paired with a professional teaching artist—an educator with both creative expertise and real-world connections to LA’s creative economy. Together, they co-plan and co-teach engaging, standards-aligned lessons that deepen student understanding and provide vibrant new ways to demonstrate learning. Teachers gain lasting strategies that spark joy, creativity, and discovery—impacting students well beyond the one-year program.
