ArtsMatter x PST Art: Art & Science Collide

A dynamic K–12 education initiative that empowers students and educators to explore the intersections of art and science through engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences. In collaboration with Getty's PST ART: Art & Science Collide initiative, this program brings contemporary exhibitions and STEAM-integrated curriculum into classrooms and communities across Los Angeles.

Program Offerings

Teacher Professional Development: Our annual ArtsMatter Symposium brings together hundreds of educators for hands-on workshops, artist talks, and networking opportunities to inspire classroom practice and connect with PST ART exhibitions.

Family Days: Free public events that invite families to engage with PST ART exhibitions through hands-on artmaking, live performances, and family-friendly activities.

Curriculum Design: Innovative teacher guides developed by ArtsMatter integrate media art, science, and student voice, designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Student Showcase: A culminating citywide exhibition that features student artwork inspired by PST ART themes, highlighting young voices and creative interpretations of art and science.

Through this multifaceted program, ArtsMatter x PST ART celebrates the creativity of educators, students, and families—making arts-integrated learning accessible, inclusive, and unforgettable.

    • We created 20 standards-aligned teacher guides that connect science and media arts to PST ART exhibitions, bringing real-world, interdisciplinary learning into classrooms

    • 740 Teachers streamlined their PST ART Field Trip planning by accessing our custom-build portal Through partnership with LAUSD, PST ART Field Trips qualified for Cultural Arts Passport (CAP) funds, additionally we provided 50 bus scholarships

    • 600 Attendees from 79 zip codes across LA County

    • Hosted by 6 major institutions: NHMLA, CAAM, MOCA, Hammer, CSULA + Self Help Graphics, CSUDH

    • 14 local organizations and school groups participated, including Pacoima Beautiful, Rio Hondo Conservation Corps., MEND, Compton Advocates, Westbrook Academy, and more

    • 86% said the free bus made them more likely to attend

    • 600 Attendees from 79 zip codes across LA County

      Submitted student artwork inspired by the ArtsMatter x PST ART Teachers guides

    • 400+ Students

      Showcased their art and science integrated work in a digital showcase.
